What gives Cannabis the unique tastes and smells that can influence our choice of strains? How did these strains develop? This course will take you through the varieties of cannabis, the landrace cultivars that are responsible for the many varieties of cannabis we see today, as well as terpene classifications. Here we will describe some of the main terpenes found in cannabis and the modulating effects they bring to the plant. In conclusion, the course will discuss the cannabis plants therapeutic properties for specific health conditions, that may provide relief.

  • As a result of this course students are guided through a better understanding of the cannabis plant, and its components. Classifications of the cannabis plant are also included. This course will explore some of the cultivars that can be useful in medical situations while providing relief.   A comprehensive examination of phytocannabinoids and terpenes will also be included in this course.  An overview of four medical conditions, their symptoms, and the medicinal properties cannabis offers to relieve them.  The conditions include pain and inflammation, anxiety and mental health, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer.  The objective of this course is to understand how terpenes and cultivars in cannabis promote health and well-being by ensuring that patients and customers have access to cannabis products tailored to their needs and preferences. This course emphasizes the modulation effects of cannabinoids which are influenced by the terpene content of the plant, and how several Land Race cultivars have provided the influential effects of today’s modern cultivars.

Dr. Bridget provides valuable talks on medical cannabis, CBD, life balance, and confidence. In 2019, Dr Bridget branched out into developing her own line of CBD products as well as white labeling and CBD product development for other businesses. When not seeing patients, Dr. Bridget hosts a CBD education series, and a holistic wellness series and is teaching faculty at the Cleveland School of Cannabis.
