Course Description: As a result of taking this course students will Dive into the intriguing journey of Cannabis History with this engaging asynchronous course. From its roots in the 1600s to the dynamic present day, you will explore the comprehensive history of cannabis usage and its evolution. Uncover the fascinating story of cannabis through key milestones, cultural shifts, legal developments, and societal impacts. By the end of this course, you will be equipped with a profound understanding of the historical context surrounding this versatile plant and its enduring significance across different time periods. Lesson Objective: Upon completion of this asynchronous course on Cannabis History, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the historical usage and evolution of cannabis from the 1600s to the present day. They will be equipped with knowledge about key milestones, cultural shifts, legal developments, and societal impacts related to cannabis, enabling them to appreciate the historical context of this versatile plant and its significance in various time periods

As a result of taking this module, students will be introduced to the CSC President, Tyrone Russell, who will describe the advantages of cannabis education with the Cannabis Hub that is powered by the Cleveland School of Cannabis  The student will be introduced to the Instructor who will list their specific qualifications for teaching this course

 

Jeremy Baker: Instructor, History of Cannabis

Jeremy Baker is a highly qualified instructor at Cannabis Hub, specializing in teaching the History of Cannabis. He possesses an impressive educational background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Westminster College (PA) and a Master’s degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University. His academic focus has been on Social Movements, particularly emphasizing the American Labor Movement.

Jeremy’s teaching experience is extensive, and he currently holds positions at prominent institutions. He serves as a part-time lecturer at The Ohio State University, where he has been teaching various sociology courses for over four years. Additionally, he is a part-time faculty member at Otterbein University, where he instructs on topics such as sociology, culture, family, and research methods.  His skills in course development, online teaching, communication, and educational technology, coupled with his rich academic and teaching background, make Jeremy Baker a valuable asset in providing students at Cannabis Hub with a comprehensive understanding of the history of cannabis

  • As a result of taking this module, students will be able to review their knowledge of basic cannabis history before they begin taking the course.  The objective of this pre-test is  to help students understand their current level of knowledge and skills in the subject matter.  This is a graded quiz that is worth 3 points.
  • LESSON: History and Usage
  • As a result of taking this module, students will gain knowledge on the Historic uses of cannabis. This helps the student identify the potential applications for the cannabis plant as a society.  The learning objective of this module is to promote an understanding of the cultural, social, and political factors that have shaped cannabis use and regulations.
  • History and Usage Post Test
  • These quizzes are designed to elicit memories and check students’ understanding of the videos, summaries, and/or related resources found within the module. As a result of taking this knowledge quiz, students will encounter 3 multiple-choice questions. Students will need to earn 70% or higher (2.0 questions) to pass and move on in the course successfully.
  • Cannabis 1600-1950s
  • Cannabis 1600-1950s Pre Test
  • As a result of taking this module, students will be able to review their knowledge of basic cannabis history from the 1600s to the 1950s before they begin taking the course.  This is a graded quiz that is worth 3 points.
  •  The objective of this pre-test is  to help students understand their current level of knowledge and skills in the subject matter.

  • As a result of taking this module, students will be guided through a journey of cannabis history from the early 1600s to the 1950s.  The learning objective for this module is to provide students with  a historical context for the cannabis industry, helping them understand how it has evolved over time.
  • Cannabis 1600s-1950s Post Test
  • These quizzes are designed to elicit memories and check students’ understanding of the videos, summaries, and/or related resources found within the module. As a result of taking this knowledge quiz, students will encounter 5 multiple-choice questions. Students will need to earn 70% or higher (4.0 questions) to pass and move on in the course successfully.
  • War on Drugs to Present Day
  • War on Drugs to Present Day Pre Test
  • As a result of taking this module, students will be able to review their knowledge of basic cannabis history before they begin taking the course.  The objective of this pre-test is  to help students understand their current level of knowledge and skills in the subject matter.  This is a graded quiz that is worth 3 points.
  • War on Drugs to Present Day
  • As a result of taking this module, students will be guided through the History of Cannabis beginning with the War on Drugs in the 1980s to the present day.  The learning objective of this module is to Highlight historical injustices and disparities related to cannabis prohibition, fostering awareness and advocacy for social equity within the industry.
  • War on Drugs to Present Day Post Test
  • These quizzes are designed to elicit memories and check students’ understanding of the videos, summaries, and/or related resources found within the module. As a result of taking this knowledge quiz, students will encounter 5 multiple-choice questions. Students will need to earn 70% or higher (4.0 questions) to pass and move on in the course successfully.
